EQ Audits

Quincy’s patented, Frost and Sullivan award-winning EQ process evaluates the overall efficiency of your compressed air system based on “Best Practice” solutions. With our dedication to improving the efficiency of all compressed air systems through the use of industry-approved best practices, Frost and Sullivan has recognized the Quincy EQ process as a process that drives operational excellence and has achieved world class status.

    EQ: Efficiency Quotient

1. Free plant walkthrough to determine existing EQ Rating
Your Quincy representative will complete the Rating Worksheet. This does more than just identify your existing EQ rating, it also:

estimates your current air system costs
    estimates cost reduction potential

2. EQ Analysis to quantify cost reduction opportunities
A trained Quincy representative comes on site and connects the EQ Analyzer which records the power and performance of the compressors and air pressure levels in your compressed air system during normal production. This data, along with information from plant personnel and observation, is thoroughly analyzed.

3. Evaluation of EQ Analysis Report and Action Plan for reducing operating costs.

Financial projections include a pay back calculation on the recommended Action Plan and capital investment.
System performance graphs and tables provide details on existing and proposed system performance.
The Action Plan details the specific recommendations and estimated costs to raise your system’s EQ to “Best Practice” levels.

ENGINEERED AUDITS

Compressed air is not free!

In most plants, compressed air is treated as though it were free. However, as with any other production utility (i.e. steam, chilled water, etc.) there are direct costs and overhead costs associated with the production of compressed air.

So how much does it cost to operate just one 100 hp air compressor?

The cost for electrical power to operate this compressor (at an average rate of $.07 kWh) is over $55,000 per year. Considering most plants have multiple compressors of various sizes and types, you can see how quickly power costs add up. In fact, energy costs represent as much as 75% of the total cost of ownership of a compressed air system.

Quincy Systems Auditing Service can reduce energy costs by as much as 50% and maintenance costs by 30%.

Quincy’s Engineered Audit uses an eight step approach. A typical analysis requires one week or less of onsite time and consists of the following procedures:

    Analyze Supply Equipment
    Measure Storage Capability
    Qualify Air Demand
    Resolve Production Problems
    Create System Diagrams
    Determine Operating Costs
    Develop Action Plan
    Provide Complete Report
